Franco Strong Hockey Kancer Jam & Tournament Mission

In January of 2021, Franco Monnecka, a then-11 year -old hockey player for the Secaucus Patriots, was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkins lymphoma. He immediately began treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City, and underwent 3 surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. We’re happy to report that Franco is now cancer-free and is back on the ice playing the sport he loves at Saint Peters Prep!

Grateful for the support they received during his treatments, Franco and his family have staged the “Franco Strong Kancer Jam” hockey tournament each year to raise funds for the Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation, a charitable Foundation dedicated to helping families affected by a kancer diagnosis. For his efforts, Franco was appointed as an Official Jambassador for Jam Kancer In The Kan by New York Islanders Captain Anders Lee.
