[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The 3rd annual Jam Kancer In The Kan Fundraising tournament was held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, with all proceeds donated to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Cancer Center, in support of the outstanding treatment  provided to our friend Kyle Brainard and his family. The Brainard family  been a part of Jam Kancer In The Kan since the beginning, helping to raise funds for Pediatric Kancer Research & Care. In June of 2016, they received the phone call that all parents fear – the one where someone says. “Your child has kancer”. They found themselves scrambling to find the best course of treatment for their son Kyle, and they found it at CHOP. Thankfully, Kyle responded well to his treatments, and was recently diagnosed as cancer-free.

Before our 36 teams competed in the Tournament, a brief opening ceremony took place, followed by the throwing out of the First Disc. 9 year-old Michael Savare, diagnosed with Luekemia at age 2 and now cancer-free, threw out the First Disc, which now-cancer-free Kyle Brainard promptly Jammed in the Kan![/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/05eSDG0mfRM” align=”center”][vc_column_text]

We thank the Board of Directors of the Highland Swim Club in Scotch Plains, New Jersey for graciously hosting our event.
