Franco Strong Hocky Tournament & Fundraiser – 1st Annual

This event has expired

THANK YOU FOR RAISING FUNDS TO FIGHT KANCER AT THE FIRST ANNUAL FRANCO STRONG HOCKEY TOURNAMENT & FUNDRAISER!

In January of 2021, Franco Monnecka, a then-11 year -old hockey player for the Secaucus Patriots, was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkins lymphoma. He immediately began treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City, and underwent 3 surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. We're happy to report that Franco is now cancer-free and is back on the ice playing the sport he loves at Saint Peters Prep!

Grateful for the support they received during his treatments, Franco and his family have staged the "Franco Strong Kancer Jam" hockey tournament each year to raise funds for the Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation, a charitable Foundation dedicated to helping families affected by a kancer diagnosis. For his efforts, Franco was appointed as an Official Jambassador for Jam Kancer In The Kan by New York Islanders Captain Anders Lee.

St. Peter's Prep is proud to support Franco's fundraising efforts to help others by sponsoring the inaugural Franco Strong North Jersey Middle School Showcase at the Secaucus Ice Rink March 28-30, 2024. It is open to all 2010's, 2011's and 2012's. There is a 3 game guarantee (each game is 2-25 minute halves/no checking), and all players will receive a player jersey.
